    FUZZY LOGIC FOR CONTROLLING SMOKE LEVEL ON SMART SMOKING ROOM

    Public space is one of the facilities that need in public areas. One of the public space facilities is a special smoking room. The existing smoking room is still conventional, meaning that there is without controlling system to maintain the air condition in the rooms. This study discusses a smart system to control air levels in smoking rooms based on fuzzy logic. Fuzzy analysis is carried out with input parameters, namely temperature, air humidity, CO levels, smoke levels and output parameters are supply fans, exhaust fans, and air ionizers. Based on the results of smart smoking model test compared wit the Matlab analysis, the Mean Squared Error (MSE) value on the supply fan = 0.0640, MSE on the exhaust fan = 0.0502 and MSE on the ionizer = 0.0604. The results for the MSE value are closed to zero, its means smart smoking rooms models is works properly

    Monitoring The Usage of Marine Fuel Oil Aboard Ketapang Gilimanuk Ship

    The development of the shipping industry in Indonesia has continued to increase over the past 10 years due to the sabotage principle. This development can be seen from the increasing number of national vessels. The number of national vessels becomes wider from 6,041 units in 2005 to 24,046 units in 2016. The number of vessels makes monitoring the operational performance of the vessel difficult because each ship has different travel routes. This research made tools that can monitor the performance of ships especially the use of MFO aboard the ship. The sensors used to measure the volume of MFO in the tank on board are HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors and potentiometer pendulum sensors. The data from the sensor was processed by Arduino Uno microcontroller. This study would compare the performance of ultrasonic sensors and potentiometer pendulum sensors mounted on MFO oil premises. The study was conducted by measuring the position of the ship horizontally, right and left tilted with a slope level of 30 degrees and 45 degrees. The result of this research is that the potentiometer pendulum sensor was better when MFO surface condition was flat with the average of error sensor 1.60%, while HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor has an average of error for 2.87%. However, on the skewed surface conditions of MFO, the usage of HC - SR04 ultrasonic sensors was better with average of error for 3.21%, while the potentiometer pendulum sensor had an average of error for 8.66%

    Application of HOG Algorithm for Automated Room Control System

    This study aims to develop a prototype of automated room control systems. The histograms of oriented gradients (HOG) algorithm is used to detect and count the people entering or coming out the room so that the use of electricity is more appropriate. The raspberry Pi microprocessor is used as a controller since it is efficient and can be expanded for monitoring over the web. The system testings show that the prototype can detect and count the number of incoming and outgoing people enough accurately with error rate of about 1.7%, while people entering or coming out the room not simultaneously, but can not detect and count accurately with error rate of about 43.3%, while two person walk close together through the door. Using the automated room control, the electronic equipments will be active when there are people in the room and the  temperature below 200C

    Broadband radio over fiber communication employing SCM/WDM system

    Optical microcellular systems, in which microcells in a wide area are connected by optical fibers and radio signals, are transmitted over an optical link among base station and control station. The main idea in this chapter is to combine the SCM model of RoF with WDM. The integration of the two systems is responding to the demands for high data rate applications and reasonable mobility. The employment of the SCM-RoF in the WDM architecture allows reduction in cell size that increases the bandwidth, thus improves the spectrum efficiency. This is because of the low loss and enormous bandwidth of optical fiber, increasing demand for capacity, coverage and the benefits it offers in terms of low cost base station deployment in microcellular system. The system has initiates setup 1.8 Gbps for high bit rate of the 16 SCM channels through modulated by MZM and carrying in single wavelength of CW laser then utilized in WDM, significantly was increased of the bandwidth capacity. The result is present higher bandwidth for long distance communication system (SMF, 150 km) by using SCM/WDM for Radio over Fiber is 60 GHz. Therefore, the efficiency of bandwidth utilization of SCM is expected to be much better than conventional optical WDM

    An improved feed-forward linearisation of optical transmitter for radio over fiber system

    Radio over fiber (RoF) technology provides an efficient and cost effective solution to increase the capacity of mobile communication systems and the coverage of wireless broadband communication systems. This is due to the growing data traffic and bandwidth demands. However, the performance of an RoF system is limited by the linearity of the optical transmitter that contributes to major nonlinear distortions in the links. Meanwhile, in multichannel applications, high linearity is required to avoid a channel interference due to nonlinear distortions. The feedforward linearisation technique offers a number of advantages compared to other techniques such as a broadband distortion reduction at high frequencies and simultaneous reduction in all orders of distortion. Therefore, it is suitable for linearisation of the optical transmitter. But, the existing design uses many electronic components causing difficulty for the amplitude and phase matching to achieve the optimum distortion reduction and also generate the parasitic parameter at high frequency. This thesis aims to improve the performance of the optical feedforward transmitter by reducing the electrical component without decreasing the distortion reduction performance; thus reducing the difficulty for the amplitude and phase matching and the parasitic parameter at high frequency. System characterisation is carried out by the mathematical analysis using Volterra series approach and simulation using a commercial optical design software which is validated by the practical measurement. It shows that the IMD3 reduction is good for high frequency. More than 15 dB IMD3 reduction is achieved over the carrier frequency 1.2 to 2.4 GHz using the proposed system practically. In addition, the proposed system is simpler and less sensitive in the amplitude and phase matching to obtain the optimum distortion reduction since the distortion suppression is influenced by less electrical parameters compared to other works

    Performance analysis of EDFA for SCM/WDM radio over fiber communication link

    The radio-over-fiber (RoF) system is one of the potential schemes for the future broadband wireless communication systems such as mobile communications, hotspots and suburban areas. In this paper, we present 16 channels of RF carrier modulation of the Sub Carrier Multiplexing (SCM), which then integrated, with Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) for the Radio over Fibre Link. The integration of the two systems is responding to the demands for high data rate applications and reasonable mobility for broadband communication. The work also investigates the performance of EDFA for the optical fiber length up to 200km. The EDFA introduced as the optical amplifier in the designed system model to encounter the effects of attenuation, distortion and Rayleigh scattering. The deploying of RF carrier performs by double side band and single side band of the SCM for bandwidth utilization shown to be much better than conventional optical WDM. However, by applying EDFA with the length varies from 0m – 5m, the performance show that total power transmission has magnifying the optical signal significantly and the optical fiber length expanded to 150 km. The simulation result has shown that pre-amplifier EDFA in 150km of SCM/WDM RoF system significantly boost the performance of optical signal strength over the link

    Carp is a freshwater fish that have economic opportunities to be cultivated. In the maintenance required carp control well to temperatures that are too low can affect the ability of the organism to bind oxygen so stunted. To overcome this, do a system that can keep the working temperature automatically. This tool works on the basis of the readings of the temperature sensor into the ATmega16 microcontroller through ADC port. ADC readings used fuzzy logic control input on the program. Results defuzzification program is used to set the amount received by the circuit pwm solid state relay. Pwm magnitude proportional to the voltage received by the heater, so that the heat of the heater can be set large. The water in the aquarium box (prototype pool) will be in circulation by the pump. This device has a high degree of accuracy in monitoring the temperature inside the pool, while the difference in temperature with the thermometer sensor has an average percentage error with high accuracy level.
